Los yanquis

The white man comes, pale as the dawn, with a load of thought, with a slumbering intelligence as a fire raked up, knowing well what he knows, not guessing but calculating; strong in community, yielding obedience to authority; of experienced race; of wonderful, wonderful common sense; dull but capable, slow but persevering, severe but just, of little humor but genuine; a laboring man, despising game and sport; building a house that endures, a framed house. He buys the Indian's moccasins and baskets, then buys his hunting-grounds, and at length forgets where he is buried and ploughs up his bones. And here town records, old, tattered, time-worn, weather-stained chronicles, contain the Indian sachem's mark perchance, an arrow or a beaver, and the few fatal words by which he deeded his hunting-grounds away. He comes with a list of ancient Saxon, Norman, and Celtic names, and strews them up and down this river, -- Framingham, Sudbury, Bedford, Carlisle, Billerica, Chelmsford, -- and this is New Angle-land, and these are the New West Saxons whom the Red Men call, not Angle-ish or English, but Yengeese, and so at last they are known for Yankees.

El hombre perfecto tiene la inteligencia de un alemán y la facilidad y soltura de un español (entiéndase madrileño o andaluz).

Creo que son cualidades no combinables... nada más feo que un alemán haciéndose el latino... o un español alemanizado (sin comments).

Pharaoh's army got drowned

Oh Mary, don't you weep, don't you mourn
Chorus:
Pharoah's army got drownded
Oh Mary don't you weep.
If I could I surely would
Stand on the rock where Moses stood.
Mary wore three links of chain
Every link was Jesus' name.
One of these nights about 12 o' clock
This old worlds going to reel and rock.
God told Moses what to do
To lead the Hebrew children through.
Moses stood on the red sea shore
Smotin' the water with a two by four.
God gave Moses the rainbow sign
No more water, but fire next time.
Mary wore three links of chain
Every link was freedoms name.
The very moment I thought I was lost
The dungeon shook and the chains fell off.
I may be right and I may be wrong
I know you're gonna miss me when I am gone.

Ésta es un espiritual negro que se volvió hacer popular en los años 50 y 60 con el movimiento de derechos civiles en los Estados Unidos. Aretha Franklin, entre muchos artistas, hizo un cover de "Mary Don't You Weep.
